Getting Started

Welcome to the Straker LanguageCloud API documentation. Here you’ll find details about our API and a complete list of available endpoints. If you have any problems or requests please contact apisupport@strakertranslations.com at any time.

Create a Developer Account

Before you begin to use the API you will need to have a Straker LanguageCloud Developer Account.

Speak to one of our team to get started: sales@strakertranslations.com.

Get a Sandbox Token

You will receive a confirmation email after you submit the registration, which will include your Sandbox Token.

To help with your testing, Straker Translations provides a Sandbox Explorer and a Sandbox Environment, a special environment designed just for testing. We recommend you try out the Sandbox Explorer before starting. In the Sandbox Environment, an application can perform all the same operations it would in the Production Environment, except that all jobs involved in the orders are fictitious.

The Sandbox Token cannot be used in the Production Environment but only in the Sandbox Environment.

Sandbox Environment: sandbox.strakertranslations.com
Production Environment: api.strakertranslations.com

Develop & Test Your Application

Operating an application in the Sandbox Environment is essentially the same as operating it in the Production environment.

But what’s different about the Sandbox? The application needs to be pointed to the Sandbox environment instead of the Production environment.

You can trigger the “completion” of your test jobs so that you can test your workflow process as a whole. The translation is not provided, and the original file or text will be returned.

You can access the Sandbox Environment programmatically or you can browse the Sandbox Explorer. You can create one or more test jobs and simulate posting, getting and canceling jobs in the Sandbox environment through your application or via the Sandbox Explorer.

Launch Your Application

The Sandbox Token cannot be used in the Production Environment. An Access Token is used to make API calls in the Production Environment. To obtain an access token, please contact our Sales team: sales@strakertranslations.com.
